Madison Thompson

Madison Thompson is a first-year Master’s student at McGill University, Montreal, in the studio of Isabelle Demers.

Originally from Connecticut, Madison became interested in the organ through her local church, and began organ study at age 14, earning a scholarship towards her studies.

Madison double-majored in Music and French at Trinity College (Hartford) where she studied under Christopher Houlihan, served as Assistant Chapel Organist, and was a recipient of the John Rose Organ Scholarship. Madison also served as Organ Scholar at St. Patrick-St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hartford under the direction of Dr. Gabriel Löfvall, where she also studied conducting.

In addition to her studies, Madison studied in Paris, where she was a student of Jean-Baptiste Robin, and took harmony and improvisation courses at the Schola Cantorum. Madison regularly works with choirs and churches in the Greater Hartford area, recently serving as Guest Organist for Christmas Angelicus, a concert series from Chorus Angelicus Choir.

When she is away from the console, Madison enjoys hiking, baking, and wine and cheese tasting.
