Sunday Worship

All are welcome to join us for Sunday worship in-person or livestreamed on YouTube at montrealcathedral.ca/live.

8:00 a.m. Traditional-Language Holy Communion in English

This is a spoken Communion service—without any songs or hymns— using the older prayer book with traditional language modelled after the 1600s. This service is also available by zoom or phone to anyone who is home-bound and cannot join a livestream.

9:00 a.m. Sung Eucharist in French

This is a Eucharist in modern French. An organist plays and we sing hymns every Sunday, but there is no choir at this service.

After the service, join us in the Undercroft (church basement) for coffee hour. Besides that, join us every other week for Pain, partage, prière, an interactive Bible study, also in the Undercroft.

10:30 a.m. Choral Eucharist mostly in English

This is a Eucharist in contemporary language. Most of the service is in English, but some readings will be in French. The bulletin for this service is fully bilingual, so you can fall back on the translations if you get lost during part of the service. This Eucharist features the Cathedral Choir. Depending on the Sunday,  you might hear anything from a Latin motet from the 1600s to a mass setting by a contemporary Canadian composer. The congregation also joins in several hymns.

Everyone is welcome to join us for coffee hour featuring fair-trade coffee after the service.

4:00 p.m. Choral Evensong

Evensong is a traditional, sung prayer service for the evening. Our weekly Evensong features music from the choir and readings from Scripture. Join us to listen and reflect as the choir sings beautiful, prayerful melodies.  This is broadcast on YouTube or on Radio VM.
