The Cathedral is open for everyone 7 days a week. We rely on your generous support, as it costs over $2,500 a day to run our Cathedral ministries of pastoral care, social outreach, social justice, hospitality, worship and music in a heritage building.
Please be sure to identify yourself when you donate, in order to receive a tax receipt for your gift at the end of the year.
We are very grateful for your support!
We invite you to light a virtual candle by making a donation.
God doesn't want to coerce generosity. The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:6–8

The Spire Campaign
The Spire campaign began in 2015, a fund-raising effort to repair the Cathedral’s spire. The steel-aluminum structure dates from 1940. It replaced the original stone spire, taken down in 1927 because it was leaning two feet towards Ste. Catherine Street.
As we now know, the Spire’s steel and aluminum components should have been physically distancing. Instead, where the two metals touched, the steel corroded and weakened.
The original budget in 2015 to repair the Spire was $4 million. That has blossomed to over $12.1 million in 2023. Phase one was completed in 2018, at a cost of $5.4 million. Phase two work began in late 2019, with an estimated cost of $6.7 million. (See our Campaign website for more information.)
We have raised upwards of $10.7 million, and Phase two work is in the last stretch.
We need to raise a final $1.4 million in order to leave the Cathedral debt-free at the end of the Spire Project. All donations are gratefully received!
Making an annual pledge
Cathedral members have many ways to express gratitude for the blessings God has given: in the liturgical life of the Cathedral, in their prayer life, in their social service and social justice activities for building up God's kingdom on earth, and in financial contributions for all the ministries of the Cathedral.
Regular, grateful giving back to God is part of Christian life. By pledging each year you allow us to budget responsibly.
Please speak to or email the Treasurer or the Bookkeeper if you have any questions.
For 2023, can we pledge an additional 6.9% over last year's total of $124,000, to cover the effects of inflation on our Cathedral budget? YES, WE CAN!!

Bequests
Giving from one's accumulated assets needs careful planning. Bequests are only one way to do this.
Sometimes a gift during one's lifetime offers significant tax advantages.
Please contact the Treasurer if you would like to find out more.
Memorial and in-honour gifts
You may choose to make a gift in memory of a loved one who has died, or in honour of someone, or to commemorate an event.
Such gifts may be dedicated (given for a particular purpose) or left to the discretion of the Dean and Wardens.
Please contact the Treasurer if you would like to find out more.
