Alongside Hope (previously PWRDF - Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund) is the Anglican Church of Canada’s agency for sustainable development, relief, refugees, and global justice. With the support of Anglican parishes across Canada, Alongside Hope makes financial and human resources available to support partners’ initiatives and to promote knowledgeable actions of solidarity at home and around the world.

The Cathedral Alongside Hope chapter provides support raising funds in partnership with the Cathedral Sunday School to advance national Alongside Hope objectives. Past campaigns include Appetite for Learning in Haiti (a hot lunch program for school children), Seeds for Change (an agricultural sustainability project), and Weave a Net (to provide anti-malarial mosquito nets) in Masasi, Tanzania. In early 2020, the Cathedral sent our annual contribution early, in order to take advantage of a (x6) matching program of the Canadian government. The cause was known as AMCC (All Mothers and Children Count). Our donation was $2,300 (matched x6 = $13,800).

The Cathedral each year sends a budgeted $3,000 donation plus the amount given by congregation members through the use of monthly Alongside Hope envelopes.
