The Rev’d Jean-Daniel Williams

Assistant Priest (Children, youth, families, and students)
Christian Chaplain (Protestant) at McGill and the Université de Montréal

The Rev’d Jean-Daniel leads Protestant campus ministries and leads the Cathedral’s young adult Hungry Minds Bible studies and bilingual, contemporary student worship services. At the cathedral, he also oversees our children’s and youth ministries and family programming. He is passionate about creative outreach, ecumenical and interfaith relationships, and bilingual and francophone ministries.

Jean-Daniel grew up in Boston, and before answering the call to ordained ministry he taught dance and was a museum educator. He has over a decade of experience as a youth minister, Christian education director, and youth camp administrator. He earned his bachelor’s from Harvard and then his master of divinity from Yale. Jean-Daniel is completing PhD studies in practical theology, researching children’s ministry and intergenerational Christian education, through the Institut Lémanique de Théologie Pratique of the Université de Lausanne and the Université de Genève.

Jean-Daniel is raising twin daughters, Emerald and Lanéa, who serve as his most valuable theological brainstorming partners.
