Buying fair trade goods supports small-scale farmers and craftspeople around the world who strive to earn a fair living to provide for their children and to be gainfully employed in a job that brings dignity and joy. SJAG helps the Cathedral community make ethical purchasing choices by providing fair trade coffee for coffee hour and social events and by making fair trade goods available for purchase on a regular basis, working with Dix Mille Villages (Pointe Claire) and other fair trade organizations.
Join us for the monthly Fair Trade Kiosque, every 2nd Sunday from 12:00-1:00 pm in the Cathedral. The Kiosque features a range of fair trade food such as coffee, tea, chocolate, herbs, spices, and crafts from producer groups around the world.
If you would like to do more than shop, contact the Fair Trade Working Group below to learn about ways you can volunteer at the Kiosque by raising awareness about fair trade justice, serving customers, or transporting products.
