Please join us for a service of Tenebrae, a contemplative monastic service of darkness.

Tenebrae is the Latin word for darkness or shadows. At the beginning of the service the church is lit by candles which are extinguished one by one after each reading, until the church is in total darkness. Readings are accompanied by sung responsories and the service ends with plainchant singing of the psalms appointed for the monastic service of Lauds. It is a spine-tingling liturgy which you need to experience in person. It will not be livestreamed.
