Unlikely Wilds is an interdisciplinary project that explores the implications of the ecological restoration concept “re-wilding” on human urban existence through a multifaceted live performance experience. Through immersive soundscapes, the performance explores living as a part of nature or ‘the wild’ even as an urban dweller. Follow a three-movement journey depicted through experimental minimalist music (organ, viola, voice, electronics, and euphonium), poetry, film, and dance. The dancer depicts the journey from the city into wildness and back again, while filmed material creates a backdrop for the dancer to interact with and provides contextualization for the music and text.
