September 30 is the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation with Indigenous People.

For this day, we have prepared a thematic exposition especially to:

– make visitors aware of problems lived by indigenous people in the past and still today
(including residential schools, missing women, non-drinking water, etc.);
– expose the repulsive conditions that were theirs, especially in the 19th century, but still up to these days;
– highlight efforts by people of Kahnawake to preserve their language.

On the Forecourt

  • Drumming on the forecourt, with Marg Boyle and the Eagle and Condor Collective
  • Remembrance and reconciliation: Each Child Counts

In the Cathedral

  • Presentation in support of the project on indigenous languages in Kahnawake
  • Display: So that you and your children may live
  • Video: Doctrine of Discovery: Stolen Land, Strong Hearts
    (produced by the Anglican Church of Canada, with French subtitles)
