Stand inside the church, facing the main door.
As you face the door, you will see on the right the rainbow flag, a symbol of the cathedral’s longstanding support for the LGBTQ2S+ community, and also a declaration of wider inclusiveness of our Christian community.
The sign beside the flag has a quotation attributed to Richard Hooker, an Anglican priest and theologian from the 16th century (1554-1600) which reads:
"Pray that none will be offended if I make the Christian religion an inn where all are received joyously rather than a cottage where some few friends of the family are to be received."
On the left of the front door, there is a statement of support for our Indigenous brothers and sisters, the original caretakers and inhabitants of Turtle Island on which the cathedral stand.
