The previous Cathedral website recorded some memorable events during its existence (1997-2009). Here are some of the highlights.

2007/11/01 The annual benefit concert, with Jeri Brown! 2007/02/22 A beautiful new Music Calendar has been created by the music committee. 2006/10/02 Christ Church Cathedral's annual benefit concert 2006/09/15 OutMass; Celebrating our Diversity. A special CD of the OutMass (Hymns, Brief Mass by Dan Locklair, Anthem by Palestrina and Bishop Robinson's Homily) is now available for a modest fee. Please contact the Cathedral Office for more information. 2006/07/15 OutMass; Celebrating our Diversity. A special Eucharist will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 7 pm at the Cathedral. Our guest preacher will be the Rt. Revd Gene Robinson, Bishop of New Hampshire. A reception will follow in Fulford Hall. 2003/03/24 The Archbishop's sermon preached at the Special Synod Eucharist concerning the Residential Schools Settlement has been added. 2002/05/21 On Sunday, June 2, 2002, at 4 p.m. a commemorative service of Lessons and Prayers, Hymns and Anthems will be held in Christ Church Cathedral in honour of the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Invited Guests include The Honourable Lise Thibault, Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec, who will give an Address. Instead of the regular 4 o'clock office of Choral Evensong, the format will focus on prayers and readings of thanksgiving and praise in English and French, interspersed with special music sung by the Cathedral Choirs accompanied by organ and chamber orchestra. The Director of Music, Patrick Wedd, will conduct the choirs of adults, trebles and girls in Handel's "Zadok the Priest" sung during the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth, Crimond's "The Lord Is My Shepherd", and a setting by Henry Purcell of the "Te Deum". Three of the hymns, to be sung by all, are particular favourites of her Majesty the Queen. Following the service, there will be a reception in Wallenberg Square, located in the courtyard behind the Cathedral. The Lieutenant-Governor will cut a Jubilee cake in honour of the occasion. In case of rain, the reception will be held in the Lobby of the Place de la CathÈdrale, the office tower adjacent to the courtyard. 2002/04/25 Last night, Cathedral Forum approved a new version of the Cathedral Prayer. 2002/04/03 The Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, Her Honour The Honourable Lise Thibault, wil be present for a Service of Celebration for the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, to be held in Christ Church Cathedral, Tuesday, April 9th, at 12 o'clock noon. The service will be a choral Eucharist with The Right Reverend Andrew S. Hutchison, Lord Bishop of Montreal, as Celebrant. Participating clergy will include the Dean and Rector of Christ Church Cathedral, The Very Rev'd Michael J. Pitts. The Cathedral Choir under the direction of Patrick Wedd will sing the coronation anthem "Zadok the Priest" by George Frideric Handel. People may sign the Book of Condolences while the Cathedral is open, starting Sunday, April 7th.

2001/06/23 A link to Canada's Digital Collections: the Religious Heritage website, with many photos of the Catherdal, both inside and out, was added. 2001/03/18 2001/01/26 2000/12/21 2000/03/19 99/09/16 99/05/21 98/10/26 Now that we have a few sermons available for electronic distribution, a sermon page has been created. 98/09/30 The First Gavin Elbourne Memorial Lecture, Tuesday September 29, 1998. 98/05/17 - An exhibition of calligraphic works will be presented from May 23rd to June 12, 1998 at Christ Church Cathedral by La Sociètè des Calligraphes. Admission is free. 98/05/17 - At this Sunday's Coffee hour, we had our first sip of fair trade coffee. It was great! 97/08/11 - Begining on September 7th, Choral Evensong will be broadcast live each week at 4 pm from Christ Church Cathedral. It can be heard in the whole area of the Diocese and beyond on Radio Ville Marie FM 91.3.
